Navigating the in-between
With the current state of our world, a lot of us are at a crossroad. As a collective, we as a society are undergoing a state of rapid transformation. On an individual level this phase of transformation can be lonely, painful, uncomfortable, and leave us in the dark about what is ahead. You may be starting to realize patterns and previous ways of living that are no longer serving you, leaving you questioning career, patterns, relationships or environments. This space of growth where you are not where or who you once were, but aren’t yet where and who you want to be, is the in-between, or something Lala Delia has coined as The Liminal Space.
Navigating this time can be confusing, and sometimes it feels like it won’t ever end. It can be a distressing time for some, and can be considered by a dark night of the soul. It’s important to remember that this is a temporary chapter, the nature of life is ever-changing and you are most certainly not alone. As uncomfortable as it can be, the in-between period is a very necessary part of your growth and ascension. If you are experiencing this phase, it’s a good sign that you’re evolving and outgrowing who you’ve been, which is a positive and necessary part of life. Staying committed and disciplined to your inner work and healing journey is extremely important during this time. Here are some important practices and things to remember so you can navigate this time with grace and emerge a higher version of you.
RITUAL AND ROUTINE
Create nourishing rituals and routines that you stick to every single day. Doing so helps you feel more grounded and in control while in an uncertain time. Some powerful rituals and practices that can help shift energy and difficulty emotion include journaling, creating art, meditation, breath work, and movement. An especially powerful ritual during this time is having a gratitude practice. Choosing to see the good in a difficult situation can help us shift our energy and emotions. Practice writing down at least three things every day that you are grateful for. Take the time as you write to really feel your appreciation for each item on your list. Pick practices that feel good to you and structure a routine that supports you and try to stick to it every day.
SUBCONSCIOUS WORK
The subconscious mind is responsible for our beliefs, habits, patterns, and what we are manifesting into our lives. Our subconscious mind is established during roughly our first 14 years of life based on what we witnessed and experienced. In order to create lasting change we must work with the subconscious to reframe our negative and limiting beliefs. SURRENDER
Trust that this chapter is not forever, nothing is. Avoid escapism and trying to only entertain what’s next as best you can and allow yourself to be present in your current experience. This can be scary, as we tend to think if we allow ourselves to be fully present and immersed in our emotions that we can get stuck there. Feeling our emotions and experiences fully is actually essential to allow them to show us what we need to know and then pass through us. Be gentle with yourself, rest, cry, express your emotions however you feel necessary. The more we resist an experience, the more it seems to have a grip on us, so allow your current reality to be what it is, confident that it is serving a higher purpose and will pass.
GET SUPPORT
Ahhhh help. Something people rarely feel comfortable asking for or admitting that they need. This is a time to relax into your feminine, to allow yourself to be receptive and cared for. Whether it be a coach, a therapist, a friend going through a similar experience, or if you don’t feel like talking, things like flower remedies, adaptogens, and CBD can be extremely supportive during unpredictable times.
Most importantly, be gently with yourself. Love yourself through this time and show yourself the extra TLC you deserve. Not all transformation feels good, trust that this chapter is here to help you evolve and gain the clarity you need to live the life of your dreams.
