Balancing Feminine Energy
We all have both masculine and feminine energy within us. Each serves a vital purpose in how we operate in our lives. Feminine energy is the part of us that is at ease, rests and receives easily, is in touch with her sensuality, is kind and nurturing, and creative and in flow. When our feminine energy is out of balance and we’re experiencing more masculine energy, we can feel critical, aggressive, and controlling in different aspects of our lives. When our feminine energy is depleted, we can feel like we need to work extremely hard to get what we want and like we need to fight our way there. There are a lot of simple and nourishing ways to bring our femininity back to the forefront and tap into that vital energy source.
UNPLUG & UNWIND
Clear a day to do absolutely nothing. Turn off all electronics and unplug from technology. Allow yourself to simply breathe and be. Nourish yourself, move slowly, and choose activities that are calming and grounding. Let yourself be in a mode of relaxation and receptivity, trusting all will be taken care of and all is unfolding in the right timing.
DANCE
Turn on soft and slow music, close your eyes and allow your body to move along. Try to just be in your body and not worry about how you look, but just feel, move, and breathe.
GET INTO WATER
Bathe in water. The ocean, a bath, or a shower if that’s all you have available. Allow your body to relax and soak. Take deep breaths, get very present and tune into the sensations of the body. Allow yourself to fully let go.
SELF MASSAGE
Abhyaghanga, or Ayurvedic self massage involves using grounding oils such as sweet almond or sesame oil, and slowly and gently massaging it into our entire body. Self massage is a wonderful way to connect with our body and soothe the nervous system. It is a very sensual and loving act to give our body the nourishment and care it desires.
Being in our feminine energy is all about being in the energy of trust, nourishment, and ease. Try these practices or any other soothing exercises that you enjoy next time you feel out of balance.
